Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance is designed to build essential knowledge and skills. The course also provides an opportunity for students to study a wide range of general business and accounting subject areas. In addition, completion of the degree provides students with eligibility for a number of professional exemptions enabling future continuation of their studies to become a fully qualified accountant.


By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Provide a comprehensive foundation for students intending to pursue a further professional accountancy qualification on graduation.
  • Provide a comprehensive introduction to the worlds of accountancy practice, commerce, industry and finance.
  • Develop the knowledge and skills essential for employment in the modern business environment

Career options for a student who has completed the Accounting and Finance degree course provides a platform for a career in accounting and finance, it also serves as a basis for a career in general management, banking, financial services and consultancy (for which a solid grounding in accounting and finance is increasingly recognised as desirable). Graduates wishing to become professional accountants can ‘fast-track’ the completion of the relevant professional qualification. Those desiring to use accounting and finance training for wider management may want to pursue a Masters degree in Management thus attaining an MQF level 7 degree.

Study Material

All students will have access to EBSCO, the world’s largest online library, Moodle for class notes and Turnitin for the upload of assignments.

Entry to the course

  • Matriculation Certificate equivalent to A’Levels
    • 2 A-Levels and 4 Intermediate subjects, including Systems of Knowledge) OR
    • BTEC Diploma or equivalent


  • Secondary Education Certificate (GCSE)minimum Grade C/4 in Mathematics & English
  • If the candidate’s first language is not English an IELTS score of 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each component.

Bachelor courses offer a flexible entry process and the Admissions Team is happy to consider entrants from all backgrounds with slightly lower qualifications if they are able to demonstrate alternative eligibility for the course. This may be in the form of relevant work experience, ideally for a minimum of 3 years.
