This European accredited postgraduate degree is designed to prepare skilled professionals who wish to further their career by acquiring the appropriate computing competencies. Ultimately, this course will help candidates in formulating a critical understanding of the fundamental theories and application of modern cloud computing.

 

Objectives

By the end of the course, students will be able to

  • Educate businesses on how they can utilize the characteristics of cloud and its benefits such as scalability, elasticity and utility billing to reduce their Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and increase ROI.
  • Assess, evaluate, and apply the necessary tools to analyse an organization’s assets and verify if the cloud security and privacy implications are justifiable in implementing Cloud Computing.
  • Understand business requirements and be able to propose the right cloud solution.
  • Understand how Enterprise Resource Planning applications are deployed on cloud and the benefits of doing so.
  • Have an understanding of the behavior of organizations and the people in them.
  • Understand strategic issues.
  • Commission and evaluate projects.
  • Be an effective team leader.
  • Develop cloud products and explore the possibility of bringing them to market on a profitable basis.

Career Prospects

Graduates will be qualified to take up senior positions in cloud technology or to start their own business in the cloud domain.

Assessment

The assessment for this course is a combination of assignments, examinations and a dissertation.

Study Material

All students will have access to EBSCO, the world’s largest online library, Moodle for class notes and Turnitin for the upload of assignments. 

Entry to the course

The candidate has to possess the general entry requirements and the following qualifications:

  • An Honours Degree in Computer Engineering (minimum 2.1)
  • Alternatively, the candidate may possess the following qualification:
  • A professional qualification in Information Technology/Computer Sciences from a recognised University or appropriate comparable.
  • English Language Requirement – IELTS 6.0

Furthermore, the Admissions Board may approve any other equivalent qualification.
