This Masters of Science degree enables students to develop a critical understanding of the fundamental theories and application of concepts, techniques in formulating business strategy, providing effective leadership and management of the change process to ensure arrival. Strategy does not always succeed because leadership and change management execution are not in harmony together.


Critically evaluate and apply a range of theories, concepts and models to support the development of strategy, to develop best practice in leadership and execution via change management.

By the end of this course, students will be able to apply problem solving skills to various scenarios and be able to generate strategic options in formulating strategy. Students will recognise that people (employees and stakeholders alike) are fundamental to the change process itself and should be encouraged to become involved and empowered (Kotter and Kohen, 2002). Leadership, marketing, finance, organisational behaviour and business models modules will develop broader skills, and competencies and knowledge which are required of a present day middle to senior level manager.

Career Prospects

This course is designed for those individuals who are in employment and who are seeking career growth in their careers as a strategic leaders. Therefore emphasis is specifically placed on developing the skills required to advance in their leadership career potential. Through the various modules and the assessment strategy, students will be encouraged to develop their knowledge and skills as practising or aspiring leaders, and to think analytically about their personal and organisational processes. Therefore students who successfully complete the MSc in Strategy, Leadership and Change management can aspire to grow further in their management and leadership roles within both the private and the public sector. Following their studies students can aspire to apply for employment positions in finance, marketing, HR, and many more departments.

Modular, evening classes


All modules, with the exception of the Dissertation, will be assessed by a combination of summative/end-of-module written papers (50%) and formative/continuous assessment (50%). Continuous assessment will be undertaken via a combination of teaching and learning approaches including:

  • multiple-choice papers
  • case studies
  • project work
  • team/group exercises
  • essays

Students will be provided with oral and written feedback on continuous assessment and, where applicable, strategies implemented to ensure that they are fully prepared for the end-of-course assessments.

Study Material

All students will have access to EBSCO, the world’s largest online library, Moodle for class notes and Turnitin for the upload of assignments.
